Born in Port-Au-Prince (Haiti), David André always wanted to be a fashion designer since his childhood. After his classical studies, he decides and takes his passion in hand and started taking classes in fashion design, costume history, merchandising at the Academy Faith Verona (Haiti), for self-esteem classes, maintenance and modeling at Academy perfection (Haiti). Patternmaking and draping at Formamod Paris (France).

From his first runway show in 1998 in Haiti to date, David proved that he can reach his goals as a designer. His name is well known in Haïti and overseas for his professionalism and creativity. After all these years he still improve his work and he received some recognitions, By the End of November 2012, during two years 4 pieces will be exhibited in different museums of the « Choukoune » collection in Madrid, Spain organized by bid-dimad.org.

In January 2015 4 pages are devoted to David André’s work in the book ” Primed for Success Celebrating Entrepreneurship Caribbean vol 3 ” published by the Caribbean Export agency. July 2015 he travelled to Senegal, Dakar for a student residence of 2 weeks around the traditional boubou and African fabrics. In May 2019 he participates in a two-week fashion accelerator program on «sewing and finishing» at the University of Trinidad and Tobago…

Year after year David gained experiences and created a name in Haiti and abroad and participated in various Fashion Week in the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Martinique, Bahamas, London, Spain, Trinidad & Tobago, Ecuador, New York, Miami, Guadeloupe, Berlin, Paris, Dakar, Barbados, Philadelphia. His work has been published in national and international newspapers as Le nouvelliste, Haitian Times, BBC News, Jamaica Sunday Observer and magazines as Marie Claire France, Rebelle Magazine, Ticket magazine, Air France Outremer Magazine, Actu’Elle Senegal.

David is not prepared to stop, he wants to realize his dream, which is to be known worldwide and be the pride of Haïti. As stated Mrs. Magalie A Racine ex former minister of youth and sports in the Haitian Times newspaper ” David is going far with His positive attitude.”
