Christine Samuel is a multi-talented award winning Saint Lucian artist who has earned recognition for her impressive skills in different artistic genres. She is a retired theatre arts teacher and has received much national recognition and acclaim for her work as a dancer, dance tutor and choreographer. Today Christine works as a fulltime designer/artist.

Christine the designer/artist works under her own Christy Creations brand and uses her extensive skills in the visual arts to produce original ladies bags, unique bamboo jewelry, and clothing that all reflect vibrant Saint Lucian/Caribbean artistry and beauty. Every creative product from Christy Creations is individually created, hand crafted, hand painted, and fashioned into a bona fide original with a great story of its own.

The products from Christy Creations are today attracting increasing local and regional attention. Over the last three years she has showcased her wide variety of bag styles and regular new creations at many local and Caribbean regional events including the annual Saint Lucia /Taiwan Trade Exhibitions, the premiere Caribbean Festival of Arts (CARIFESTA) and others. Christine was a featured designer in the prestigious international “Hot Couture” event of the 2015 Saint Lucia Jazz & Arts Festival. In 2016 she participated in the regionally established Suriname Fashion Week where she presented a thirty Bag collection entitled “DUO”. Her overall diverse collection is an impressive one, and selections of outstanding individual bags, jewelry and clothing are featured in the stores of Sea Island Cotton shop in Saint Lucia. She also showcases in a working space at Howelton Estate/Caribelle Batik from where she produces a new style of bag for the shop of Howelton.

In her native island Saint Lucia, under her Christy Creations Brand, Christine has established an annual spectacular Fashion Showcase called “That’s My Bag” in which she presents to the public her latest original designs from her incredibly creative mind: From Bags to Jewelry, and now Fashion on the Move in fine Cotton and Linen. The showcase has developed into a hugely popular and eagerly anticipated fashion event in the country.

In June 2018 Christine Samuel and her Christy Creations brand won international recognition in receiving the “Caribbean Style & Culture Award of Excellence in Fashion Innovation” at the 2018 Caribbean Style and Culture Awards in Washington DC, produced by the Washington-based Karib Nation Inc., in celebration of National Caribbean American Month in the U.S.A.
